大卫一世与苏格兰自治市镇的兴起探究

大卫一世时期，苏格兰建立了包括贝里克、罗克斯堡等在内的一系列早期自治市镇。这些自治市镇大多在苏格兰王室的直接支持下建立，以市场为核心构成要素，在地理上多毗邻城堡。苏格兰自治市镇的兴起与十一世纪以来欧洲西部贸易的活跃、苏格兰本土城镇发展密切相关。大卫一世个人也在其中起到了关键作用。通过自治市镇的贸易获取经济利益，是大卫一世推动设立自治市镇的主要原因。大卫一世时期苏格兰王国自治市镇的兴起为其后续的繁荣奠定了基础，并推动了中世纪苏格兰的经济发展。
